DIY - Make a Pot Out of a Garden Hose!!

This was such a fun project!! It's a DIY with a great purpose. Keep your plants watered and healthy by making a soaker hose flower pot!
I used a soaker hose and wound it around in a circle and tied zip ties around every 3 coils. It came out pretty sturdy.
Once you have the base done, start curving up the coils. Keep going until you have used up all the hose - 50 feet is what I have here.

What is annoying is cutting off all the ends of the zip ties... I had hubs do that part. :)
Here it is all done. It really didn't take any more than a half hour... with two people working on it...
For more info on how I made this check out my blog. Have a great weekend making lots of fun STUFF. Linda

Here are my 2 "hose" baskets. Baskets made from new hoses and filled with gardening items would be great present for anyone. I was thinking new homeowners and Dads specifically. they started out as planters like yours but ended up like this.

@Kelly S Oh, my gosh. I love it!! It's basically a pot and then just swing the end of the hose up like a handle. This is totally awesome. I've got to make one of these. Thanks for showing me what you did.

You started it! I didn't know what to do besides donate or trash the hoses and they are still good just bad looking and heavy. I have to add more tie wraps to the one sitting on the bottom concrete. I switched out these 2 hosed for 1 of the "pocket" hoses that expands when the water turn on and then shrinks back up. It is SO much easier to handle. They don't work on rain barrels though because there isn't enough pressure, I end up hauling the water can around; I want to use the water from the rain barrels on my plants to save on the water bill and because there are far fewer chemicals in rain water.
