Girls White Bedroom Furniture

We just purchased a new white bedroom set for my granddaughter. Being a teenager, she loves lots of color and most likely will want to make changes and redecorate after a few years. Only problem with that, especially wall color, is having to repaint...no easy or small task with our high ceilings. Outside of bedding, does anyone have suggestions on 'dressing up' her white furniture without it being permanent? Perhaps stencils, decorative contact paper or other applications which will be easy to remove or change without causing any damage? Being the walls are painted neutral, does anyone have solutions to what we could do to keep from having to repaint later?
White sleigh bed
White night stand

Wallpaper! Note, use wheat paste, it's a lot easier to get off!

They sell decorative decals for exactly that purpose, for putting onto walls or furniture temporarily. I've seen them at some craft stores, at TJ Maxx type stores, and occasionally at Target.

By the way, Lavende.....love Costa Mesa, especially the Orange County fair! (I just moved to texas from Yorba Linda.) thanks for the suggestion...I had a ball looking at many decals on the internet.

We had gotten some peel and stick butterflies in all sizes to put on our daughters bed and wall. They do not peel the paint off of the walls but it does add a pop of color.

That's exactly what I'm looking for Karen,...thanks for the heads up. I went online and found plenty of inexpensive wall and furniture decals. Sure is cheaper than painting and reprinting walls and easy to change out.

What about covering some thin foam board with some wild print that she likes and use 3M Command strips with velcro to attach it to the center of the headboard? You could also do it in the inset on the foot board too!

I suggest the thin foam board with fabric attached with spray adhesive then attached to the wall with command strips. Very easy to change out and will have a big impact. You can do the easy to remove peel and stick decals on the dresser and night stand. If you can sew you can make a simple headboard cover as well. There are a lot of possibilities for the room. Have fun with it.

I hope your grand-daughter realizes how lucky she is to have such a loving grandmother.

Aw, that's so thoughtful of you Liliana. I can't even put into words what she means to me...she's my first and we have the same name (Rebecca). When she was born my mother told me 'now you know what grand is.' Ever since she was little, I've always always told her she and I shared the same heart.

I was thinking of a soft burlap panel made w foam core and attached to inset of headboard w removable Velcro. Maybe some thrift store ornate picture frames spray painted w gloss white, arranged on the wall around the headboard.

My son's family rents their house and they have 3 daughters. I bought command strips and in each of the girls rooms, I used material draped on the command hooks for the older one's room. For the two little ones, I used foam core board from the Dollar Store and got children print material and made big panels to attach with command strips on their walls for color. I sewed up some throw pillows for all three bedrooms and they love it. I am sure for an older girl's room, you could adapt and older kid's taste but it is inexpensive and quick and the impact can be as much as you want it to be. It's a lot of fun to do. I used material, wall paper I found on clearance and glitter!!!

You have provided some fantastic ideas, Valerie. And you are so right about their tastes evolving and me adapting. Since I posted this months ago, my granddaughter has changed her mind a few times about the colors and styles she wants. I'll show her this post!
