What Color IS (or was) Your Easter Egg?

This past Sunday, April 27th 2014, was the Octave of Easter and a day when two popes were made saints. The season of Easter continues until June 8th 2014, but it is not the aforementioned pious occasion nor the time frame of Easter that has caused some of my visiting whimsical characters (some are pictured in the first two images) to be holding convos.
Rather their convos are rooted in an "eggs-tra-ordinary" way in which eggs were represented in NYC during a period preceding Easter and for a few days after the holiday's official date.

For while The Easter Parade is what has always brought my whimsical friends (who provide holiday ambiance in my studio apartment) to New York during the Easter season; it was a Faberge´ sponsored Easter event that had (and still has) my eggs talking. (Some of these eggs can be seen in the pictures above and might be recognizable to you from a couple of my prior posts here on HT.)*

And even though a couple of other whimsical characters (not seen in the first picture) could've been the grandest lady in the Easter Parade, as evidenced by the Easter bonnets they are wearing (in photos three and four of this posting),

my eggs are still "eggs-cited" about their extended family (other eggs) being represented by renowned artists at Easter time.

The Faberge´ event my eggs and I are referring to took place from April 18th through April 25th of 2014 throughout the city and ended at Rockefeller Center, an institution that is in close proximity to where the annual Easter Parade takes place.

During the aforementioned time period, Rockefeller Center "hosted a display of unique egg sculptures as a finale to a city- wide egg hunt . . .

"Visitors (had) the opportunity to see over 260 egg sculptures, each created by the world's leading artists, designers, photographers, architects, and other creatives, located throughout the (Rockefeller) plaza.

"This art exhibition (included) one of a kind (egg) sculptures from Jeff Koons, Zaha Hadid, Tracey Emin, Peter Beard, RETNA, Julian Schanbel, Leo Villareal, among others, and (was) open to the public (with no cost for admission)."**

I was very ill during that time period and I missed the event; however, I've found a link with great photo-ops of the egg sculptures, which my visiting eggs INSIST I share with HT readers.

The egg sculptures in the Faberge´sponsored event are quite inspirational, at least to me, for I am one who appreciates unique spins on things as you might surmise from a small collection of Easter eggs I own and have featured in the image above.

But it seems to me that at least one whimsical chick (pictured below serenading orange egg in my succulent garden) also enjoys unique eggs — or a good egg — as I've heard him call it!

And it also seems to me that some folks who live on a street directly southwest of where I reside also appreciate using eggs in decor in an unconventional way as evidenced by their pastel decorated eggs hanging from flora they grow in front of their home. (See photo below.)

Unless a few visiting birds colored those eggs?

  @Tammy Goodyear These characters are good for me to have around as they help me to take myself a little less seriously. BTW, I think the lambs in the image by your H banner are so sweet. Could you tell me a little bit about them?
