An Oak Thrift Shop Magazine Rack Repurpose

I purchased this small, wall, oak magazine rack with spindles at a local thrift shop for $2. I thought it had possibilities for other display. Maybe magazine racks are outdated? Are you getting your magazines online? I like print magazines but maybe magazine racks can work for other purposes! See all the repurposing and upcycling details on my blog.
Maybe a magazine rack could be used as a plate/platter display too! What do you think?
This is my $2 oak, wall magazine rack purchase!
Here it is painted and distressed with an added bead board, stained backing.
Here it is on the wall as a magazine rack!
And here!

I have several mag racks. Don't care if they are in-style or not. Great for big books that don't fit well in bookcases. Use one for manuals to take the heat of my filing cabinet. Have a small antique one in my bathroom. Use it to hold rolled up face clothes. Not a knitter, but I would use one for a current knitting project.
