Renie Thompson on Apr 30, 2014The contractor said $35 to $40 a square foot, but the estimate came out twice that. It's an approximately 16 x 32 foot addition with about $10k plumbing work included. Very ballpark. I also googled it.Helpful Reply

123 Remodeling on May 01, 2014Dormer Additions for about 900sq.ft cost about $25 to $35K, I would say 500sq.ft about $15K to $20K. We do a lot of gut rehabs and dormer additions in Chicago for investors.Helpful Reply

Wanda sinnema on May 01, 2014Boy thats a hard one,, there are so many variables,,,,,Load bearing walls, joists, will current footings support you idea... really I'd check locally. It would also depend on the situation where you live..housing in some areas is much cheaper,,, not here in my area.. a quote for Pa, can't be compared to Miami, or L A.... You'd need to give them a approx size, what you want included, such as bath, great room, or just bedroom and storage..go prepared with a few more details....to get an accurate one..every detail changed even a ballpark figure..Helpful Reply
