Staircase Makeover

Our staircase is 20 years old. One night, I took my husband into the hall, and told him I would love to paint the bannister a dark brown. I thought he would think I was nuts, but he loved the idea. We picked out a color at the store that reminded us of dark wood. Once he started applying it, I knew it was going to look beautiful. It made all the beautiful wood work POP. Looks so much better! When we bought our 16 year old house one of the first things we did was paint the stair rails and risers. Too much oak made the house look so dated!!! Painting the risers also opened up the stair and gave it a fresh look!
