I want to know if I can add new wood on top of the old porch? the old porch is in good shape and needs painted but I wanted to try adding? Help this crazy Lady out. Thanks

    You can replace the decking without any problems. I've done it quite a few times when the bones were in good shape but the deck boards were cracked.

    No , Mitch I don't want to replace the old. I want to add on top of the old? Can I?

      @Betty, if the boards are in good shape, can you tell us why you want to cover them?

    I think we don't have enough information to do a good job answering. Is it an indoor or outdoor porch (is it enclosed)? Are you wanting to lay boards in the same or different direction? I'm trying to picture what it is you're wanting to accomplish here, but realized I need more info please.

      @Lisa The porch area is enclosed by awnings and wanted a different pattern but decide to drop the idea. Thanks,Betty
