Custom Made Fireplace With Faux Granite Top.

I bought a 28 inch electric firebox thinking I could save money by getting an old mantel on Craiglist. I quickly found out I couldnt afford any of them and they would all have to be modified to make them work. I then drew up a set of plans for a custom one and just went at it. total cost for the mantel 60.00
used sea sponges and four colors of acrylic craft paint to create the mantel top. Then several coats of spray on gloss to make it shine like stone.
