Dark cupboard needs cheerful, and quick, makeover...

Amy Ogden-Paparone on May 07, 2014I'd personally leave the outside exactly the way it is,maybe put a dark coat of wax on it and paint the inside a bright color. That will make the whole thing pop, and show off what you display on the inside. I'd use chalk paint, and make it look as if the cabinet came like that, make it look worn and used but loved. Perhaps a mint green or or a white washed yellow. Can't wait to see what you come up with, so please post pictures!!! It's a beautiful piece!Helpful Reply

Teresa Lima on May 08, 2014I LIKE MY STUFF VERY RUSTIC, SO I NEVER DO A VERY PERFECT JOB, THAT MAKES THAT OLD LOOK, HERE IS HOW I DO IT, FIRST SCRAB THE WOOD, THEN WASHED IT JUST WITH WATER AND VINEGAR, PASS SOME VERY THIN WITHE PAINT THEN SOME BRUCHINGS OF SEEKER PAINT IN THE COLOUR OF YOUR CHOICE. IF NECESSARY SRAB JUST A LITLE BIT AT THE CORNERS.Helpful Reply

Patti Delano on May 19, 2014I decided to go with a yellow inside and leave it the way it was outside... It really brightened it up! Thanks for the suggestions. I will get a pic of it in the shop displayed!Helpful Reply
