I have the same problem in Ga I covered all the furniture this year with old sheets and put all my decor in plastic bags. It was tacky but it definitely helped.

Our brick red cushions were covered in yellow pollen this spring. I tried brushing the pollen off...had a major allergy attack. Went back with vacuum, which was quicker and more efficient, then hosed all of the screens, wicker, tables, down. It looked so much better, and was finally a place I could enjoy again.

We put up heavy plastic every winter to use as a greenhouse for our palms with help from a small electric heater on freezing nights. We leave it up until the pollen storms are gone. We still have to vacuum with shop vac and wash down the cross braces. And of course, clean the fan!

I'm wondering if having the screens mounted with Velcro would make cleanup easier. Then I could take them down and scrub them clean on the ground instead of hauling out the house ladder to wash the screens in place. I think the power washer would tear the screens to piece, even if it would be a lot less work.

We use a leaf blower and blow the screens out.

We use a pressure washer once we're sure the pollen showers have stopped. We take the furniture outside in the yard and hose down. The problem I have is a greenish mildew, or something, building up on the screen.
