Farmers porch character

Michelle
by Michelle
When we bought our home, it had a little of everything we wanted, master bathroom, garage, kitchen island, farmers porch.
'Mature landscaping' as the listing said. However the curb appeal lacked some pizzazz
Adding some victorian porch brackets was a quick, easy and cheap way to dress up the front of our home.
From drab to fab (almost)! Next up, cleaning up the landscaping!

That's really funny! I had a similar situation here in my rural area where there is few choices of realtors. My selling realtor was so new to selling houses, he knew almost nothing, told us nothing. But I was new to the area and didn't have a clue where else to go. I found out last year that Consumers Powers has a 350 ft. easement on our property - which of course the realtor did not tell me. I had moved from the city where there were no easements so I didn't know to ask (only my second owned home). Last year Consumers Powers came in and cut down all of our mature pine trees on their easement (75 year old "mature" trees the size of yours.) Lesson learned the hard way!

That stinks. Consumer powers decided that after 75 years, the trees were a problem? I honestly know nothing about easements but have heard people talk about them in the past.
