Will this be for drying wet towels after a shower or bath, or just to hang dry towels on for drying hands after washing?

Cribs usually have a hard protective paint finish that should not come off with moisture.I would use a Deglosser to give the wood some "tooth",then paint it with an interior or exterior enamel paint.you might be able to just spray paint the crib with paint made for plastic.I would try that first. Its quick, inexpensive and worth trying first. If it doesn't work out,you I can always go back to prepping and priming the old way!Good luck!
