5 Tips for Successful Bookcase Styling
Bookcase styling can be tricky. But after arranging and rearranging my DIY built-in bookcases countless times, I have come to rely on a few tips. And I believe my first tip is the key to successful styling.
Use what you love...display family photos, favorite childhood books, and other keepsakes along with your books.
ex. The dog and books are a couple of sentimental treasures that I brought home from my grandmother's house. A photo of my daughter sits in the background.
Vary the height of the objects on the shelves for visual interest.
Create balance by distributing weight and color evenly throughout the bookcase. I like to create a zig-zag pattern, working from top to bottom.
Feel free to turn books around so that pages are facing front. I did this for books that didn't work with my color scheme.
After following these tips, I'm in love with the bookcases!
