Painted Wooden Spoon Set

I have an inexpensive and easy to create gift that can be made in one afternoon. Just grab a bundle of wooden utensils and some acrylic paint and get started. You can visit our blog for step by step instructions on how I created mine.
So pretty to add a touch of color and fun to your counter top displays.
You will need a set of wooden utensils, acrylic paint, painters tape and a paint brush to get started.
Tape off the sections you want in a certain color and paint two thin coats for maximum coverage.
Keep adding color in sections until you achieve the results you like.
These would be so cute in the colors of your kitchen to add a bit of pizazz to otherwise simple kitchen tools. I just happened to make mine in the favorite color of the special person I gave these to. My sweet Mama!

What paint do you use on wood? Which one is better-acrylic or oil?

my concern is acrylic might wear off the wooden spoons after a while of using them in the kitchen

Very cute! Are they safe to use? Are they dishwasher safe?

@Cheri I made them for my Mama and she only uses them for decoration, but I think it would be ok as long as you didn't involve the painted parts in food prep. I would NOT use the dishwasher to clean them though. :)
