I keep seeing chalk paint( or is it chalkboard paint?)mentioned on the home decorating websites, including instructions to make your own, can someone enlighten me? what is the difference between that and regular paint, and what are the advantages?

    chalk paint and chalkboard paint are two different things. Chalk paint will give you a textured finish and should be sealed, usually with a wax. Chalkboard paint is just that, it will give you a chalkboard finish. If you do a search above for which ever it is you want to do you will be able to see and read many posts. As far as chalk paint, I personally find it too expensive for the result that I have gotten with acrylic based paints. But you will get hundreds of opinions for it. I also use a not prep no prime paint so that to be does not count as to their advantage. Good Luck.

    thx, so chalkboard paint is used if you want to make a chalkboard. You paint a piece of plywood, or an area of a wall, and it becomes a chalkboard.Do I understand you?
