I'm a chubby, middle aged, wife to the love of my life for 29 years and mommy to three amazing young men. We live in an 1850's Victorian on a hill - lavender of course ! She is a constant work in progress and even after 24 years living here, she's not done yet. I love creating, decorating, crafting, reading and being home.

The side porch got some fluffing!

Painted the old wrought iron bistro set a happy turquoise! Add my son's first Easter basket and some bright eggs and SPRING has arrived on the side porch of Lavender Hill!

A PINK gun cabinet?????

My papa built this decades ago and since I have ZERO use for a rifle - I painted it pink,

decoupaged it and added bins for yarn! I'm planning on adding shelves next!

Hand done touches to our Painted Lady

I have handpainted ceiling medallions and gold leafed a frieze in our 1850's House on Lavender Hill.

Old sweaters = new pillows

I used an old Christmas sweater from my days as a teacher (in my way younger years!) to make these two pillows.

I do something simliar for my friends that have lost a loved one. I make them "memory ...»
pillows". I have them give me 1-3 pieces of their favorite blouse/shirt/scarf/ or article of clothing. They can also give me jewelry, pins, tie tack etc to incorporate into the pillows. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the ones I made. The pictures were on an old phone that died and I couldn't retrive my pictures. I will take pictures of the next three I am making so far this holiday season. I've even used a pets blanket, coat, collar to make someone a pillow.
