Front Door Makeover #Exterior

When we moved into our townhome, the HOA insisted that every home have a door that matched the color of the siding. I was bummed, because the door was lost and didn't stand out.
Well.. never say never! I petition the HOA and asked to paint my door black (since it was a nice neutral color and not really 'offensive' to anyone) and they said yes!
And what a transformation! Paint, new hardware and some house numbers brought my front door from blah to wow!
I just love it now.

Have to deal with an HOA too. I would not recommend it! You were lucky you got them to agree, ours is immovable...white doors, grey blah siding...have petitioned and been refused on everything I have tried to do to make my home reflect my taste. Some people are just stuck in the 1980's! Love your black door, it looks so much better!!

MillyMolly, if HOA are elected, and most are, get some new blood in there.. sometimes its ego, sometimes its change, often old timers who have nothing better to do.... it actually brings up the value for a great entry way with curb appeal. I agree on some of the things they do and enforce. but great photos often help.. of blah to fab.. even with bounderies..
