Garden Signs on Straw Hats

I can never pass up a good farm or garden stand along the road. Of course the fresh produce is the real draw but I have to admit the signage displays are so... straight forward. You get exactly what they're advertising: Fresh Tomatoes, Corn, Cucumbers...
So I had a little fun last weekend with straw hats and roadside farm stand signs.
Straw hats, paper or vinyl letters, and spray paint
Step 1 - Spray paint the hat a dark colored base coat (ie: black)

Step 2 - Place vinyl or paper lettering down

Step 3 - Spray a top coat in a lighter color over the whole hat (ie: light brown or grey)

Step 4 - Make an arrow template from card board

Step 5 - Trace the arrow part with a Sharpie and then follow the line around the rest of the letters

Step 6 - Outline the inside of the Sharpie line with white craft paint and a small craft brush

Step 7 - Pounce over the letters with the white paint and a pouncing spounge

Step 8 - Peel the letters off and touch up the letter with the Sharpie or craft paint if needed.
Hang them on the fence or on a stake in your garden for whimsy garden signage.
