The first one is called "copper" pipe, but it is not. It's what they call iron pipe, and I don't know for sure, but I don't think it's pure iron either, but copper is put together with solder, and guess what color it is? Right! copper! Also the solder is "sweated" into the joints, and it has no threading.

Love the threaded piping...Ive been in the fire protection field so long that any project with the steel piping is most creative. There's also brass threaded pipe with fittings that would make an awesome item in addition to the color. Thanks for sharing!!!
