$20 Used Dresser Turned Into Child's Dream Dresser

Diane B
by Diane B
We wanted to give some neighbor' kids a new dresser. Theirs was old. We bought this for $20 and transformed it for a two little girl's bedroom.
Before, old ,used and missing knobs
Lightly sanded the dresser and painted first coat with primer. Then painted it with white paint and bought new knobs at hardware store. Also put contact paper in drawers instead of painting.
New front
Bought stencils at craft store with acrylic paints in pink and purple. Added brown for butterfly bodies and black for center of some flowers to bring out color. Green for grass and flower leaves.
New side
Bought two letters for their names one on each side. Then painted more stencils. I rotate the colors of flowers and butterflies to give more variety. E
New side
Each side had a different design for each child. I also painted two of the same style butterflies on to in rotating colors to represent the two sisters. Added a few flowers also.

Really sweet dresser. Do both girls share each drawer, or is there some division? I can see that some sisters would want their own own drawers. My sons were almost the same size until they were each getting married. They shared all their clothes. That way each son seemed to have twice as much. Best wishes!
