I have a page of humane ways to get rid of chipmunks, but I need more examples of the damage they cause. Share your issues with chipmunks.

Dig the soil out of my planters. Throw the dirt on the patio. Eat my new fresh tender plants. Very cute to watch play, but.
  • Sorry the biggest troublemakers I see are squirrels & mice - I know plenty have complained about them getting into attics & other areas making a racket & mess but I haven't seen it yet

I hate these critters! They dig holes in my yard and torment my dog! So the holes get bigger as she hunts them down! HA! Actually everyone thinks squirrels and critters are adorable! THEY ARE RATS!

The chipmunks in our yard have dug a 4 inch trench near the foundation of our house, allowing water to actually work it's way through the walls of our basement.

Would it help to fill the trench with sharp gravel, then cover over with dirt? Can chipmunks dig through gravel? That's the remedy to keep squirrels from eating tulip bulbs, surround with gravel.

Some how they have managed to dig under my house and they have gotten into the walls in my rec room. They run around and I swear they sound like great danes rather than tiny little chipmunks. I am afraid they will chew the electrical wiring.

They have dug holes all around our front cement steps. Now they are chipping off cement and pulling the pieces out from under the steps that are attached to our front porch. Even with covering the vents under the porch with wire screen they have managed to get under the porch as well. They have stuffed sunflower seed from all over in our cars air filter system and chewed holes in the cars sensor. As adorable as they look, they are pesky destructive rodents. Am buying about 8 boxes of moth balls and lining the house and garage on the perimeter of the foundation. This will probably smell for some time but hopefully will keep them away.

They got in our garage and chewed on wires and set the garage on fire. I went to get something to exterminate them and an old farmer told me to throw lots of juicy fruit down their holes...just the regular juicy fruit. Within 24 hours they were completely gone!
