4 Benefits of Raised Beds

We are slowly transitioning to using raised beds in our vegetable garden. We currently have four raised beds but we hope to triple that in the next week or so. Did you know there are benefits to using raised beds? The soil always stays porous and loose and never compacts. The paths between the beds stay dry, clean and relatively weed-free. You can take advantage of the layout and rotate your crops each year. Your garden always looks orderly and pleasing to the eye. Can you think of more reasons to use raised beds?
Last year we added two new raised beds close to the house for my herb garden.
The original raised beds in our garden currently growing strawberries, garlic and lettuce.
Raised beds can just be mounds of dirt for growing anything from lettuce to flowers.

Raised beds make sense for all kinds of reasons. To you list I'll add the fact that they can be a great solution for those with mobility issues.
