Pergola????

Have an older pergola and it's wobbly.........don't want to replace it now. Any suggestions on how to stabilize it, cheaply???

    It is hard to offer you advice without knowing where it is failing. Is the foundation wobbly or the posts, or? If you can upload a pic then I am sure many will try to help :)

    The posts were put in concrete about 12 X 12 inches. We don't feel that it was done properly. Don't have a photo...a relatives in another town. You lean on the posts and they move. Didn't know if we could frame and put more concrete around the bases or the 4 posts or something else?
  • check out the Lowe's or Home Depot or other hardware/home store and check out the metal supports used for decking and may try to square up the top again and put in new brackets to put support at the top of the pergola. something like this could be done too with wood if it doesn't already look like it. and maybe do the same thing but to the ground?
