Kitchen Island Updates

Some of you may remember my make-over of a PB console into a kitchen island (first picture). Many of you commented that you didn't like the open front. I agreed with you so I considered your comments and went to work. I didn't care for the original baskets that came with it since they were too dark for my decor. The width was not right for standard size doors - though I am still considering making my own. For now I am happy with the solution I came up with. I bought a set of kitchen tiers that match the valances and curtains in the area and cut and hemmed them to fit (will add another pair for fullness maybe?). Overall I'm happy with the look. I also found some oak stools on craigslist (3 for $35) and painted them to go with my color scheme. I love having my island to work on and my grandson loves to sit and eat his breakfast here. When I feel like it gets in the way I just roll it into the office out of the way and use it there.
The curtain panel coordinates with my valances in the kitchen and curtains in the adjoining living room.
Kitchen island before updates. It looked too cluttered after I gave away the baskets that came with it.
Some of you wanted to see the finished project in the space it was designed for. Here it is in the kitchen.
Kitchen island with new stools and curtain to hide the clutter.
The curtain does a nice job of hiding the clutter but I think it needs one more panel for a little more fullness.
