Umbrella Planter on the Cheap Side

I have been eyeing a planter for my umbrella pole, but the ones I found were very pricey (say $39 pricey). I found this chips and dip server for $1.50 at a thrift store. I drilled out the dip bowl for the umbrella and added some drainage holes...and now I have an umbrella planter!

Forgive the mess in the background...in the middle of a planting frenzy.

I love this! I've been look for those pots too....too pricey! This is a solution I can do! I also took a BIG pot, cut out enough of the bottom to fit over the light fixture and made planter by my front door for my pole light there. Sorry I don't have a picture to share.
