Grow Herbs in a Small Space

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
I don't have a lot of space in our courtyard, but there is enough room for a basic herb garden. I plant herbs that are called for in most recipes. The good thing about them is that they don't take up a lot of space, and they don't need a lot of attention. I have listed the herbs you need to cook almost any dish.
These herbs are easy to grow and are the ones most recipes call for.
I lined my 5 x 5 courtyard plot with boxwoods and planted the herbs on the inside of them.
There is even room for a garden ornament.
I am growing two types of basil. This herb is good on tomato sandwiches, in caprese salads, and in pesto.

I've finally given up container herb gardening & had a planter designed to fit in with our landscaping. I'd a small amount of color around the front edge. Any ideas for compact colorful plants or florals?
