Some of the stores have a few neutral colors of the DecoArt brand. To get a wide selection of colors you need to order it online or have it delivered to the store. I tried it and wasn't real excited about it after anticipating I would be. I prefer to mix my own. I am attaching a link that gives the codes to Behr paints matched up to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Colors. Behr has changed many of their codes since this list was made but the co-workers at the stores have been very patient with me and finding the current code. you can make your own with the plaster paris receipe or you can go on line and look for a dist. for Anne Sloan paint.

I have tried it all an my fav is to mix paint ( I never measure) to about 1/3 cup of sifted calcium carbonate. I use a really old flour sifter and sift it into a bowl. I then add bits of warm water til it's like pudding. I then add it to the paint and stir well. The color possibilities are endless ;)

Various recipes for homemade chalk paint are all over the internet, Home Talk and Pinterest. Many, like Annie Sloan, are only sold at specialty stores or boutique-like shops. Home Depot sells a chalk paint called Americana Decor but colors are very limited and it is apparently available online only. It might have been the Americana Decor brand Home Depot carries online but I just don't remember for sure. CeCe Caldwell ( http://cececaldwells.com/ ) and Webster's ( http://websterschalkpaintpowder.com/ ) are two other popular brands. Have you heard about or tried milk paint? I've been using a lot of Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint and I think I actually like it better than Annie Sloan chalk paint. MMS milk paint comes in powdered form and you mix it with water (and a little Bonding Agent if you don't want chipping). You can mix it as thick or thin as you want. (I HIGHLY recommend getting the $6.00 battery operated milk paint mixer/frother as it really helps to eliminate the clumps and thoroughly blends all the color pigments that are in the powder.) Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint is cheaper than Annie Sloan chalk paint, it dries with a matte finish like chalk paint, it can be distressed like chalk paint, and you seal it with wax or poly like chalk paint, or you can also use Miss Mustard Seed's Hemp Oil to seal. I absolutely love all of her colors! I found some in Walmart. Not a big selection though. Royal blue, black. Green, white, cream and a few others. They also have the wax.
