A Plain Range Hood Takes on An Elegant New Look With Plaster Stencils

by Victoria Larsen Stencils
Customer Janet Culp loved her kitchen, but not her metal range hood. So she got creative. Using one of our Raised Plaster Stencils, she used joint compound over the stencil openings to create the raised design. After it was dry, she placed the stencil on once again and painted the design in gold metallic paint. Then, amazingly, she wiped the design and the entire hood range with dark scratch cover to achieve the antique look she had envisioned.

I would love to do what you do : seek solutions for decoration problems. I just finished my kitchen and already I would love to do another one. I don't think I can find those raised plaster stencils here in France. I want to put some on the brown doors. Does plaster stick to anything or do you have to do something to the underground? I once made little tiles in plaster. Fun to do.
