Professional Vs. DIY - Sometimes It's Ok to Hire a Pro

DIY is my usual modus operandi, but hiring a pro is sometimes a much smarter option. After years of diy'ing my outdoor furniture only to be faced with a re-do a few years later, I decided this collectible mcm set of patio furntiure was the ideal candidate for a professional restoration.
My vintage patio set was always awesome but wasn't always this pretty.
Dating from the late 60's, this set sported a chalky residue which invariable was left behind (literally), crusty paint, and general surface rust. But look at those surfaces! Who wants to tackle this diy project?
Not to mention worn cushions
So I gave myself permission to send this set out for a professional restoration, and I am amazed at the quality finish!
But I couldn't keep my hands out of the project completely, so I diy'd the cushions with no sewing involved!
Good old Rust-oleum!
I love to diy. And like many of you, it's difficult to admit when a project is more than I can handle; but I've learned to be smart about my choices. Knowing when to hand a project over to a professional comes with experience but will often save you money in the long run. This set will last three times longer than my diy version and ultimately cost less. Give yourself permission to hand off those projects that are larger than life because sometimes it's wiser to hand it over to the pros!
