About Me:

I live in south Florida and own a small house which I have almost completely re-done in the last few years. Luckily we have "sweat equity" at my house - my boyfriend sweats and I get the equity!

Favorite area of home improvement:

After I finish re-doing my bedroom I will re-decorate my bath. My house is ony 1100 sq. ft. so we try to get the most use out of every square inch!

Laundry Room Makeover on a Budget

We have a very small space for our laundry room (4.5 x 7) and wanted to make sure we made the space practical, yet inviting. We laid travertine tile we bought at a discount auction, ...»
painted, put bead board on the walls to help with the flow from the kitchen, and added an Ikea closet/pantry for added storage. The whole redo cost us about $250 and we absolutely LOVE it... to read about the full transformation, click here: http://www.littlehouseinthebigd.com/2012/03/...

Okay, I live in south Florida and love love love my Pergo laminate floors! My Living Room is ...»
at least 12 years old, no scratches yet and super easy to clean, that's why I put the rest of the rooms under Pergo. The sand we have does NOT hurt these floors. The humidity hasn't hurt them either, besides, why do we have air conditioning but to control humidity? I have worn high heels, had dogs and cats and find it is easier to clean than my tile with the nasty grout. It is easier on my back and knees to stand on. I have, however, been in other people's homes where a sharp corner caused a very serious cut (5 stitches) in a child's leg, and several other people have fallen and concussed themselves on tile. If my vote counts, go laminate!
