Our Pantry Makeover Reveal is Finally Here

After last week's post of building a drop in cabinet, everyone was anxious to see our pantry. Well, here it is! It turned out just as we planned. Lots of room for all the pantry items and more. Visit our blog for more details.
We have tons of space now and no longer have to over crowd all the other cabinets just to get it all "put away". I'm still rearranging and trying to figure out where the best space is for everything.
This is how it looked right before we started. This space used to house the old oven and microwave.
My honey very carefully disassembled the cabinet, piece by piece because he wanted to reuse as much of the existing cabinet as he could...just like all the others.
He took it all the way down to the floor base.
Then he built it back up with a bead board back and shelf cleats.
Now for paint! I love this Valspar paint from Lowes. It only takes two coats and you're done! The paint color is called Jekyl Crane Cottage Green. I used my paint tray trick again.....line it with foil for a fast clean up job.
Next the shelves went in after I painted the bottom sides and then the front facing went back on after a bit of modification.
Lastly, pretty shelf paper to finish the whole thing off.
How about a before and after? Big difference huh? We will have a door for the pantry some day. Visit our blog to find out what we'll be using!

Amazed! We had to redo our kitchen, key word had to. I didn't have time to give it much thought since we had just moved in. I had 1 pantry cabinet and now wish I had entire wall done like that but my husband would kill me if I asked for it now because a kitchen is so expensive and I have no place for other cabinets which are there. I had pull out shelves put in and you may want to consider that because it is a deep space. You're are very fortunate to have a husband who did that work what a clever idea.
