Legacy Blue Painted Furniture Makeover

It was four years ago when I saw a beautiful, blue bench in Veranda magazine and it was love at first sight!
I tried recreating the look with my husband's childhood toybox, but it was too light. Next I painted an accent wall, but it was too...well, it was a wall.
Finally, I tried painting this two-drawer dresser that I've had for several years, and it was just right.
It was late, and I was tired from painting my daughter's bedroom, but this dresser and an unopened jar of Legacy Blue chalky paint were calling my name.
So, I went for it! I went over the first coat with a glaze of dark wax and water to age the blue. After that dried, I applied a coat of clear wax, followed by a coat of dark wax.
The finishing touch was a little gold Rub N Buff on the hardware. I'm so pleased with how the dresser turned out. It was definitely worth the wait!
Here's a look at the before.
And one more look at it now!

Looks lovely. A friend of mine recently did something similar to a 3 drawer dresser she was given by her mother, who had purchased it for $5. She replaced the broken top drawer with a big, shallow basket. She sold it at a moving sale/auction for $85.
