Scrap Wood Art

When life gives you scraps, create something! I have a large bucket full of my painted wood scraps, and another full of bits and pieces of wood that I just can't put on the campfire yet. Using those pieces and a square peice of plywood rescued from the drama department trash bin, I created this fun, colorful art piece.
I did not boost the colors on this picture--they really are this vibrant.
I started by finding the center of my piece of plywood and attaching a green square in the middle. Then I randomly added the other pieces, with no plan--just found and cut pieces that work.
Here is the "nail gun" I use to attach the wood pieces. You use it with an air compressor.
This is what my art looked like before I painted the unpainted wood pieces.
A little paint and sanding, wax and a frame was added.
Bright and cheery!
I can't wait to make more.
