It's Summer - Gardens In Bloom!

Here in Wisconsin we went directly from winter to Summer so it seems! I did some touch up in my flower gardens. I have three of them and have flowers blooming though out Summer and into Fall. Re-mulching does wonders to make the flowers pop, especially the colored mulch. I had to dig up all my bulbs last fall and replant the entire bulb garden because all of my bulbs had proliferated - a good problem. Now lots of my neighbors are enjoying them too! I bought and added some multi-colored Dutch Irises from a neighbor doing it for a fundraiser. Unfortunately they don't seem to be doing anything. But all of the rest of my bulbs are thriving. I have daffodils which are done now, irises that are popping now, and pink sherbet peonies that will be popping soon. The hummingbirds and song birds love my bulb garden. Every time I add manure enriched soil in the Fall this is the result I get. I am very happy with it.
I added mulch to the tired looking mulch from last season.
I chose colored mulch to make all of my flowers pop.
These blue bearded irises are some of the most hardy I've seen!
I spruced up my bird bath and filled it and the birds immediately took advantage!
No flower garden is complete without a hummingbird feeder!

Thank you Douglas we have really enjoyed them. They are so hardy that they grew with no soil when I dug them up - even when left out through winter!
