We had a 1979 bathroom complete with old carpet and old everything. We also had a teeny tiny budget.
We used an old workbench as our vanity; it had lots of drawers for plenty of storage. We added a granite top which we purchased as a left over, so we saved a ton of money.

Using irrigation fixtures on our sink, we achieved an industrial look A mirror crafted from antique ceiling tiles added to the farm look.
