Luxe Grey Love

The bed in it's original mahogany finish...nothing wrong with this finish, I just didn't suit my aesthetic. This bed isn't an antique, and in fact is imported from India. It can be purchased new (today!) for about $4000. Thank you, Craigslist!
Our initial plan was to GLAM IT UP with two colors and gold leaf...but I was torn. Simple was quite appealing!

Luxe Grey, clear wax, and Dust of Ages (all from Amy Howard Home) to the rescue!

I am not gonna lie...this was a BEAR to paint. So. Many. Nooks. and. Crannies! In retrospect, I should have sprayed it but I (usually) enjoy hand painting. This took two weeks of work, on and off, in our shop.
the gorgeous finished project...the color is soft and relaxing, while the Dust of Ages perfectly accentuates all the details. I'm quite pleased with the outcome! Soft, romantic, and French. Just my style!

I have seen this before and even seeing it for the second time, it still took my breath away! I WANT IT! This one of the pretties things I have seen on this site. It is a combination of the piece itself and the color you chose! Oh my! How I wish chalk paint, and all the accompanying techniques, had been available when I was younger. Now I am well past the age of wanting to do this sort of thing.
