From Pool to Pond

When we took our above ground pool down after 17 years I used the deck area as a raids garden using the the post as my corners and the old framing as the sides of the garden. I dug out the pond to almost 4 feet so we wouldn't have to worry about winter freeze over. An added bonus was that as we dug this pond I came across the burn pit of my 1844 house and we found over 20 intact very old glass bottles and a very elegant perfume bottle with glass stopper in the hole. I added a few shelves along the edge for plants. The big vase was lauded on it's side and the homemade filter system was plumbed through the side of it so the water would flow out and down the rocks. There's nothing more soothing then the sound of the water and watching the fish frolic.
