IKEA sewing room

Has anyone put together a sewing room with IKEA components? I'm wondering what could be used as a sewing table- appropriate height and load-bearing capacity? Any other IKEA products that are great to use in a sewing room? I'm guessing I'm not the only one who'd like to know........

I use Linnmon 120 x 60cm top & Adils legs. I've only used 4 legs as the one on show in the showroom used four, but one day I'll buy an extra one as there's holes in the centre back edge to put an extra leg. I've got it butted up to a corner of the room for extra stability and have my sewing machine & serger permanently on top of it. There's a whole heap of other stuff on top at the moment as the room is long overdue a tidy up and clear out.

I've also got a Billy type bookcase in there, and I'm thinking of replacing with somethin like the new Kallax shelving unit as Ikea sell an amazing range of storage boxes & bins. The Drona collapsable baskets look like an easy to copy design...

I used two of the large LACK units to cover most of one wall, then I used two Gerton solid wood tabletops. I used ADILS legs at the end closest to the shelving. To hold up the other end, I used two ALEX units, one with drawers, and one with a door to hold my second sewing machine. It's working out great. You will need to sand the tabletops a bit, as they're slightly rough right out of the box. Excuse the messiness, it's a well used room! :)

Thank you both! The picture is great- looks like the perfect sewing room- if it didn't look like that, you wouldn't be using it.......

I would look at the kitchen counters lowe's or home depot. I used a 6.5 counter top it can be mounted on a wall or put legs on it 2.5 high and put wheels on it. Or you can have shelf's built for each end don't forget the wheels. Char B YELM, WA

I used the Ikea Kallax workstation and the Norden gateleg table. I love the "L" shape work surface. I have recently added the Lekman white boxes to hold my fabric - they fit perfectly in the book shelf cubbies. The gateleg table folds to be only 11" wide - easily movable to access my attic space..
