Get an Aged Look on Chicken Wire With Chalkboard Paint

There are a variety of ways to make new chicken wire look more aged and weathered and quite honestly I want to try every technique, but I needed a quick solution for a project I was doing, so I decided to give this easy idea a try.
The left shows new chicken wire before the aging process, The right side shows chicken wire after the easy aging process.

I also share an additional technique for how to make the chicken wire not only look aged, but how to make it look rusty, too.


By dabbing my foam brush in some craft paint in colors dark brown, burnt umber, and a bit of bright orange, and then painting over the chalkboard paint, I was also able to obtain a rusty and weathered look on the chicken wire.
Note: This technique would not be recommended for outdoor projects, but it can work well for indoor crafts, bulletin boards, etc..
