Late May and early June truly yield some of the best views in my zone 7a garden. Come, join me in my mostly sunny garden, for a virtual tour. More in blog post below.

Landscape vantage point: the chaise lounges afford a panoramic view of most of the garden. Behind umbrella & chairs are weeping cedar atlas, Japanese maple. Far corner is azaleas, nandina, clematis, and kousa dogwood at liriope edge.
View of the garden when looking to the right (from the chaise lounge). Seen in photo: spirea and hosta at front of border; butterfly bushes and container planting (left); buttercups surrounding Rose of Sharon hibiscus in back corner.
A sea of buttercups.

Looking straight across landscape (from chaise lounge): juniper rug & liriope edges, kousa dogwood, arc of knockouts roses, birdbath just in front of staked hibiscus, holly trees center back, and magnolia on right.

First lavender bouquet (June 8, 2014). NOTE: lavender plants in background were cut to ground due to winter 2014 hard freeze; some plants died and were replaced. This was after a bumper crop 2013 season.
