Susan-Amber Springer on Jun 11, 2014I saw the spar varnish comment and want to put in my 2 cents worth. I've used spar varnish a couple of times on outside wood and found that multiple coats can be tricky. Sometimes the weather causes a milky film, sometimes insufficient sanding inbetween coats does it...best to really research with the varnish company. (My personal fave is Minwax but your mileage may vary.)Helpful Reply

Kelly S on Jun 11, 2014Instead of spar varnish I use marine grade urethane, It doesn't yellow or give items an amber tint after a year or so outside.Helpful Reply

Annie Doherty on Jul 10, 2016What wonderful signs these are thank you for sharing. Yacht Varnish may be best, it is I would say almost indestructible and will withstand anything that the weather throughs at them. I love these thank you.Helpful Reply
