A Bowling Ball to Top Off My Tipsy Pots

by Bridget Daniels
We built a tipsy pot tower out of galvinized buckets. I love all things shiny and sparkly so I decided to add a decorated bowling ball to the top of my tower.
I found a bowling ball at Goodwill in a color that I love.
My husband drilled the thumb hole larger so that it would fit over the 1" conduit that is support for the tower.
I applied glass stones to the ball using a clear weatherproof silicone glue. I have been using this glue on projects for over 5 years and have never had anything loosen or fall off.
love the way it shines and sparkles as the sun hits the glass.

How do you keep it from tipping over?

It is beautiful! I tried this several years ago; the bowling bowl was a darker color than I wanted it to be, so I spray painted it white with Krylon paint meant for resin pieces. Sure wish I had it now to put in my garden; when we moved somehow it got left behind, darn it. It seems harder to find those large balls here.
