I recently reprinted my moms bathroom vanity..the sides were wood however the door fronts and trim were covered in a vinyl plastic that looked like wood over pressed particle board. I used Primer 123 paint which worked awesome and then two coats of Behr paint. Turned out awesome!

You can paint over it, but you need to clean it really well first with a cleaner that doesn't leave any residue. Then use a good primer before you paint.
  • To paint laminated wood you need to use light costs if you use latex primer. ZINSSER primer is good and look fire glossy surface. As Loribeth stated clean the unit to make sure there is no residue from furniture cleaners , dust, or wax. Then paint light costs for the main color. I like Rustoleum quarts. Or you can spray paint it.I use Rustoleum 2x Spray primer first and then choose a color. Be sure to be careful about soaring to heavy and again light coats are the key.I spray paint many things. Have fun!

First, clean it with TSP or something that will remove all the grease and dirt. Then look in the Paint Section of a Home & Garden store where you can find a product called (I think) Counter magic. At any rate it is a product that adheres to a surface and allows you to paint it without it delaminating or peeling. (counters for example) Then have fun with your choice and/or types of paint. You might consider some appliques to make it unique or just enjoy it's new color.
  • OR you can use chalk paint out make your own!
