Garage Organization Tips

After living in a condo for several years having a garage was the biggest treat ever! No more storing bikes and other outdoor equipment in our car trunk!
As soon as we moved in to our home I decided that I wanted the garage to be an extension of the house. Like an outdoor room. Find out how I did this.
The first thing to making your garage an extension of your home is to paint it.

It's that simple. If you are able to paint your walls, then go for it. The blue color we choose was a color I knew I would be a little afraid of to have in the house but I was up for taking a risk in our garage. Luckily it turned out great and it hides dirt and grime really well.
Secondly, I chose details and carried those details around the room. The light plates and outlet covers are the same material as the cabinet. Choosing details carefully helps pull a room together and creates a great look.
Don't be afraid to add art, posters or decals to your garage. This is a fun space to play and work, why not have items surrounding you that inspire you?
Create zones throughout your space. We have a zone for tools, yard tools, pets, and sports equipment.
Make this space multifunctional for the needs of your family. We use this space for weight lifting, riding toys, woodworking and much more. Head over to the blog to see our 3 part series on organizing your garage.
