Updated Vintage Radio Cabinet

I thought I would share a recent addition to our entry with you all today. So, a while back, I found this radio cabinet in the basement at an estate sale and the hardware and legs immediately caught my attention. The guy holding the sale offered me a great deal and I knew it would provide excellent storage. (Note that the radio components had already been removed when I bought it).
After a serious cleaning, I painted the entire piece with black chalk paint.
When the black was dry I used a small artist brush to highlight the details of the piece with gold craft paint.
When the gold had dried, I lightly distressed the entire piece, with extra focus on the gold.
It's been fantastic for shoe storage as it sits just inside our front door...
You know what? This cabinet was so super close to being sold to a customer. In fact, I had brought it in the house (the weather was crummy) to finish up some last minute details when my husband saw it in our entry and fell in love with it. He honestly never wants to keep a piece of furniture, so when he asked to keep this one, I totally had to go with it. How involved are your husbands in your home décor?
