Wood Tie Dye Art

A fun project for your kids this summer! They can make this wood tie dye art project and then display it in their rooms. It is easy to make with wood and dye meant for clothes. Yep you can DYE wood! Grab the dye and get started!
This is the finished project and it looks great in my daughter's room. This is a project that is completed in steps over a few days so it is really great for summer. You can do each step and then by the end of the week have a gorgeous finished project that is ready for display.
Secret number one is using this blue school glue to make a resist. Basically wherever you add this glue the dye will not stain the wood. Brilliant right? We choose a heart design for our project.
Next step is using various RIT dye products on your art for a "tie dye" effect. Just painting it on with a paint brush works great.
Then I have a method for getting that glue to lift off of your wood project. Be sure to follow the link below to find the details on how to make this fun RIT dye project! I share my secrets to a gorgeous finished project as well as tips for staining your wood with dye.
