Advice needed on how to build a "screen room"

We have an existing deck with no roof. Can we build a "lean to" frame and screen it? Living in mosquito country (West Nile disease!) we think a screen room would be great, however we don't see many of them around, wonder why? Any advice welcome, and thank you!

Of course you can build it. You might need to get a building permit, though. Maybe you will inspire some of your neighbors.

If you don't want to go the route of adding a full roof with rafters and shingles, think about using a pergola. After it is built, you would have to screen the top of it to keep out bugs. Same goes for the floor if you have regular decking. Any cracks could let in bugs. Good luck and post your decision, please. Living in CO, you also have to consider snow load on the structure you build. Find a nice contractor with pergola experience to give his/her opinion and estimate. It might be feasible to have it done professionally. Better to know the cost ahead of time so you can make an informed decision.

I have seen someone use the wood screen doors found at most home improvement stores for their screened in rooms! Just an idea. :-)
