Building something in an apartment complex
-
Therese C on Jun 17, 2014I too live in an apartment complex. The very first thing you have to do is get WRITTEN permission from the company to build anything, due to local zoning laws and insurance reasons. If you get through all of the hoops, and I have more than once, you must learn to work in spurts of time an in a restricted space. Run heavy duty extension cords out from your apartment, and keep a constant clean up going. Another issue is the noise rules at the complex. Here it is 8am to 9pm for any outside noise. I run the cords as far from the building as possible as not to disturb anyone, work with my sawing or any other messiness on tarps, and do a very thorough clean up at the end of each day. What exactly are you wanting to build and maybe I can help you in more detail.Helpful Reply

Joy.schottenloher on Mar 21, 2015Welcome to San Antonio Lisa. I came here 8 years ago. Well I had to just make room. My husband an I live with a roomie on the east side of town. I use my bedroom for all my work. My bed has become my work space.. Then if I get tired I move everything over and go to sleep. Lol. Just make sure you put protection down so you don't ruin the covers. I usually sit at the corner . My desk chair is the perfect size to sit on. Good luck..if you are a crafter I am sure you will find a way..( hint). You husband probably will complain just a wee bit. LolHelpful Reply

Joy.schottenloher on Mar 21, 2015Theresa. If you look under my bed anything can pop out. Just kidding.. I have two under bed boxes full of paper, craft objects not to mention uner my desk. I can't sit at my desk right I have to sit sideways.. It is from floor to drawer. No room for feet. Then I have these little plastic thingy thing with drawers that also have paper and photo album decals. So you see.. I am up to my backside in what most people call junk. I call it heaven. Because it is here I find total peace.Helpful Reply
