Warm up Your Windows With an Instant Barn Wood Shutter

I love to warm up windows with window treatments, but because of shedding cats in the house, traditional curtains just aren't the best.
So I created a fun and somewhat unusual way to get a farmhouse look in the bathroom, and all it took was a little old fencing and pallet wood. This barn wood looking shutter takes minutes to make!
This barn wood shutter, teamed up with an old crate, really bring out a LOT of farm house charm for little fuss.
The wood was a combination of pallet wood and old fencing. Incorporating any stampings on the wood is always a bonus! It's like free art. :)
The planks were cut to size, then smaller strips were attached via screws. Don't forget your one diagonal strip to give it a true barn door feel.
Old hardware help give this shutter some authenticity!
A little barn wood goes a long way where rustic charm is concerned! More instruction on how to cut the Z and install the shutter are at the blog link below.
