Pink Flamingos And Summer Planters

Why plant geraniums and marigolds when you can walk a little bit on the wild side? Don't get me wrong, I still plant plenty of the traditional standbys. But I always try to find some new-to-me plants each year to spice it up a bit.
I planted this planter with coral bells, canna and supertunia (fancy petunias). I think it's a nice color combination that should look great even into fall.
A month ago I first shared this summer combo planter. Here's what it looks like now. Spoiler Alert - it grew :)

Combo planter with Canna, Coral Bells and Supertunia.
Canna - Tropical Rose - full sun - grows to be 18-30" tall
Supertunia - Pretty Much Picasso - full sun - trailing habit and 8-12" tall
Coral Bells (Heuchera) - Harvest Burgundy - part sun (4-6 hrs per day) - 12" tall
Can you spot the pink flamingos in the background? My dogs bought those for me for Mother's Day :) I love those little pink guys.

Douglas Hunt on Jun 20, 2014We love our pink flamingos here in Florida! And I love those Supertunias, which I can't believe I'm saying, because I really don't like petunias!
